"410 Cares" is a member - driven program born of the necessity to ensure that our Bandera County neighbors are safe and checked on daily. In 2025 we lost two Post Members because they suffered a medical episode alone. We have resolved to not let that happen again in our community.

"410 Cares" is operated by the Lakehills American Legion Post. However, any person who wishes may volunteer to serve as a "410 Cares" Volunteer.

In addition to our Post 410 Legionnaires, members of the American Legion Auxiliary are also members and volunteers for "410 Cares". It is a joint effort between the two.

410 Cares is a volunteer program. In 2025, we lost two American Legion members for one simple reason: They were alone.

DISCLAIMER: The concept is simple. We will call anyone who applies once or even twice per day to check on you. If you fail to answer - we will act! We will call your emergency contact or even the Sheriff to check on you. By signing up you agree to this and to hold us harmless for any conduct we choose to protect your welfare.
