Bandera enjoys a truly authentic circus experience.
Story:
On Saturday, October 12, 2024, it was a toasty day, but that didn't stop the crowds from attending the Culpepper & Merriweather Circus which was hosted by the Bandera Chamber of Commerce in the Bandera City Park under an authentic "big top"! The circus also had all the traditional offerings of an authentic entertainment circus, including kid's games, the carnival midway, and great concessions at a reasonable price.
The show opened with big cats! Trained by Trey, the newly minted 3-year-old male lion did a few tricks while Delilah the Tiger spectated.
The clowns were busy entertaining the full crowd under the big-top. The used Bandera area volunteers, both young and old to interact with them during their performance with Keirra shooting a balloon of Leo the Clown's head and another Bandera mom catching rings with her head!
The "Flying Perez's" captivated everyone with their many balancing acts including a huge 2-wheel Ferris that spun wildly as 9th generation Romario spun both inside and outside the wheel as his 10th-generation daughter Erica provided the fulcrum and momentum!
Simone, who also was the "Ringmaster", captivate the circus audience with her trapeze artistry, as well as high-speed spins while dangling only from her neck!
Rounding out the entertainment was the Luciana Loyal Repensky Riders doing balance acts on the backs of horses, and the Arlise Troup balancing on both low and high unicycles.
The Bandera County Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit organization made up of area businesses, non-profit organizations and individuals that realize that by working together they can strengthen the economic future for the entire group.
